A school in Turkey will be named “Macedonia” as a sign of gratitude for solidarity after the earthquake

In the Turkish city of Malatya, which was one of those affected by the catastrophic earthquake in Turkey in February this year, a school will be built that will bear the name of our country, and the classes, 32 in number, will be named after the Cities of Macedonia, forwarded by Klan M, the Macedonian Red Cross announces.

The school will be built with most of the funds that the citizens of Macedonia donated to the humanitarian action of the Red Cross to help the suffering population in Turkey and Syria.

“A total of 63,380,807 denars were collected in the campaign. From them, 12,427,334 denars have been sent to the account of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, to help the suffering population in Syria”, announced the Macedonian Red Cross.

The remaining part of 50,909,796 denars, but according to the agreement of the Red Cross of the country and the Turkish Red Crescent, it has been decided to be allocated for the construction of the school in Malatya, Turkey.

“This act will leave lasting traces and evidence of the solidarity of the citizens of RMV towards the citizens of the Republic of Turkey. Citizens and the general public will be able to be informed from time to time about the progress of the construction of the school and the investment on the website of the Red Cross”, says the organization.

Turkey and Syria were hit by a catastrophic earthquake on February 6 this year that killed thousands of people and left thousands more injured and homeless.
